The mother city is not only popular for the pretty sights and the million things you can get up to, but also for the fine dining. As food lovers, we’ve listed seven favourites – in no order of importance, of course! #magnificentseven

1. Scheckters raw

We know that not everyone in Cape Town is vegan: but we’ve been looking out for some guilt free indulgence! The pumpkin flapjacks with vegan ice-cream blew us away. #yummy

2. Tomo Japanese restaurant

This spot recently opened up in the city. The restaurant vibe is very authentic and we love the detail in the décor. Do yourself a favour and try their Bento box! #thankuslater

3. On the Rocks restaurant (Bloubergstrand)

Now this here is what you call a treasure: perfect location, service, menu and ambience! This restaurant is ideal for that special date, or a birthday dinner with close friends. PS: We recommend you try the seafood curry here! #simplythebest

4. Wine tasting at Groot Constantia

Earlier this year, we tried the tasting experience which includes a historical tour around Groot Constantia, the oldest wine-making farm in South Africa. Not only was the tour informative, but it also brought to life the beauty and wonder of the wine-makingvindustry in the Western Cape. Enjoy the smell of maturing wine in huge barrels inside the wine cellar, imported from Portugal. The tour guide is very engaging and answers all your questions with ease. #winetastingwithadifference

5. Superette

Superette is located at the vibey Woodstock Exchange. The venue is spacious and light-filled. The options on the menu – especially for breakfast – are varied and mouth-watering. A perfect spot for brunch. You can also walk around the Woodstock exchange space afterwards to check out all the cool designs and projects various businesses are working on. Website:

6. Argentinian Allure at Don Armando!

We came here for a friend’s birthday dinner. We sat at the outdoorsy area upstairs, so it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. Try one of the Malbec red wines; it’s an absolute treat! Don Armando is mainly a steak place, but with they have pescetarian and vegetarian options too. We absolutely enjoyed their Calamari Grilado! #vivaArgentina

7. Pahari African restaurant

If you’re looking for some original Southern African cuisine, then you’re welcome! I had the tilapia fish, brown rice with peanut butter, and green veggies. We had some chakalaka on the side too – the best we’ve tasted in a while! The food is so rich and tasty: The service and overall ambience of the place is top-tier – locals and tourists alike should come visit. #africanflavour
