The 2018 American Music Awards was hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. The stars stepped out to see who will be this year’s big music winners across all genres.

We came for the winners but we stayed for the fashion, darling. Read more for the list of the top winners and stay for the fashion choices.

The AMA’s delivered a few shocking results – like Taylor Swift being artist of the year. And this is said with zero sarcasm / irony. Who knew people actually likes her new songs? But she’ll just brush off the haters by saying the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now – why? – because she’s dead. Swift (the new one) did state that she is very happy that the public enjoys this “chapter” (referring to her album, Reputation) but she is even more excited about the next chapter to come. Look out.

And now for the fashion, honey. Here is TrendE’s list of the best – and worst-dressed celebs.

Best Dressed

Amber Heard in Ralph & Russo. This is impeccably made – fits her like a glove and also loving the cinched-at-the-waist look. BRAVO.

Cardi B

Cardi B looks fab in this floral ensemble. Known for her OTT outfits – and making them work – she can truly call herself Hot Tamale, and so will we.

Dua Lipa is electrifying in this heavenly dress. A bit poofy in the upper-crotch area – but she’s creating her own new rules when it comes to red carpet fashion.

Not sure who this honey is, but luuuuurve her look. This is unlike anything we saw on this year’s carpet. Levi’s on the red carpet – we think YES. This look can be taken from the red carpet to a girls night near you.

Zuri looks like a feathery SNACK. Makeup on point, cheekbones to die for. This dress is what short-dress dreams are made of. Maybe opt for a different shoe – but again, nitpicking.

YAAAAAS VanessaH. Tyra Banks would commend you on that smize. This is a Matric-dance dress just waiting to be copied. It needs a little attention from a steamer at the bottom. But otherwise, flawless. (Safe) But flawless.

Worst Dressed

We like the idea of this dress; however, the little sequins patch makes no sense whatsoever. xoxo, gossip girl.

halsey AMA Celebrity News

Halsey. Mullet dresses are so CIRCA 2008. Please climb out of the Narnia cupboard and step into 2018. Digging the hair colour – not the cut. Upside down V? Shook.

Amara La Negra AMA Red Carpet

Amara La Negra’s face looks fab. Hair looks fab. But what is up with the yellow toenail see-through shoes? Hard no.

Drab. Nexxxxxt. 2012 called – it said it wants the peep-toe stilettos back.

This is truly baffling. The are so many things to point out – but so little time. This is what happens when the designer and stylist have too many ideas and wants to execute them all in one look. This is trying so hard to be a statement / avant-garde, YET it is totally (and we mean TOTALLY) missing the mark.

The stockings – the open belly – the tuxedo shoe – the mini dress with a train – the bizarre face mask. WE ARE DONE.
