Cape Town has welcomed its very first authentic Parisian-themed crêperie, Swan Cafe. Snuggled up in Cape Town’s East City Precinct, it has everyone excited to step into the Parisian lifestyle.

It’s time to give our famous French fries a break and say hello to FRENCH CRÊPES!

Swan Cafe is a beautiful manifestation of a little piece of Paris in Cape Town. So if you’re strolling around the city centre and you want to time travel and have a traditional French lunch, Swan Cafe is the place to go! French owner, Jessica Rushmere, has always identified with the swan for its grace and majesty and the French theme, mixed with both elegance and femininity, can be seen throughout the cafe to the very last detail. Sounds magical right?

Swan Cafe is famous for its sweet crêpes, served with velvet chocolate, a dollop of cream, a mouth-watering dip of salted caramel and a sprinkle of cinnamon. For those who have a guilty conscience, tuck into their gluten-free buckwheat-based galette (savoury crêpe), with a wide variety of fillings to ensure that you don’t miss out on the goodness!

Swan Cafe also prides itself on its speciality teas, with it’s fun and quirky names such as “French Kiss” and “Christmas in July”, while still being mindful of all you coffee lovers. There’s iced coffee and trendy turmeric, as well as beetroot flat whites (definitely something to explore).

Let’s admit that food is something we can talk about and drool over for hours, so before we get carried away, let’s have a moment for their eye-petizing interior!

If you’re as crazy over interior decor as we are, you’d see that theirs is the SHIT! (Excuse my French).

This proud French cafe boasts red, blue and white marble bistro tables and we absolutely LOVE the copper bird cage lights that catch your eye immediately! For all you art lovers, pay attention to the two daring wall features that pay tribute to the French love of mythology and symbolism, through the tales of swans and. If that isn’t enough, sit back and listen to the French music playing in the background.
