We know – being healthy is SUPER TrendE – but it is important to still have a guilty pleasure every now and then. TrendE discovered that there is a new fast food chain on the block and we are high-key OBSESSED. So obsessed – that we even partnered up with them to bring you a chance to WIN with TrendE and Surf ‘n’ Fries. Read more to find out about our competition.
Surf ‘n’ Fries might be new to the South African scene – but it is a very well-known chain overseas and then decided to grace us with their delicious presence.
NEW TO THE WESTERN CAPE
Surf ‘n’ Fries is so new to South Africa, that is only has ONE branch in the Western Cape. With the grand opening on 27th September, Surf ‘n’ Fries officially opened for fast-food-heaven-business in Canal Walk.
With a rather wide range of items on the menu – we had the chicken strips and pops, with a side of chips (obvs). IT WAS TO DIE FOR. The pops had a surprise cheesy centre and the chicken strips were just enough to leave space for the chips.
The chips are fluffy and unlike their competitors’ taste – a MUST TRY. Their range of sauces also take the flavour to the next level. We had the mayo – which is very plain, we know – but there are many other flavours for the more adventurous Trendees.
What differentiates Surf ‘n’ Fries from the other chains? – Well, apart from being new and exciting – their packaging is kinda a big deal. Especially designed to hold all of your food, sauces, and cool drink in one place – the packaging is something to freak out over. It is not only functional – it is also a fun activity to assemble it!
The other food packaging comes in the form on a little combi – we’re digging it.
