Celebrate with the LGBTQI community, and allies, this October. The Rainbow Friendly Festival (RFF) hosts its second annual event on Friday, 26 October and Saturday, 27 October 2018. Read more to find out where, when, what and how much!
So what exactly is RFF?
RFF is spread over two days. Packed with a lineup of 21st Century Creatives. This year’s installment continues to create a safe space for all, while presenting the promise of a bigger and better festival than the last.
The weekend of fun and games begins on Friday at 6pm, with a free workshop at ONCE in Cape Town. Budding entrepreneurs will be treated to a presentation titled “21st Century Creatives in Business.” Panelists will offer attendees industry advice and insight to help in the creation of their own brands and companies.
On Saturday, 27 October 2018, party starters can head to UNCUT for a night of festive shenanigans. Doors open 6pm.
Who will be attending?
TV personality and singer, Denise Zimba will host RFF with SA’s Got Talent finalist, Manila von Teez. You can also expect to see multi-talented creative, and musical poet extraordinaire, Andy Mkosi, while you vibe to the tunes of USA-based RnB and hip hop artist, Ziggy.
RFF is an event aimed empowering the rainbow-friendly community through festivity. “We will not tolerate any hate, discrimination or any phobia,” Founder, Nicola Kagoro says.
The organisers of RFF encourage you to tweet, gram or snap queer-friendly content leading up to and at the liberal event. They want to contribute to an online LQBTQI community that is as safe as the one they create through RFF. “Our goal is to use the social media platform to raise awareness about the festival and we believe that images speak volumes. Social media is a powerful 21st Century communication tool,” says Khanyisa Madubula – Founder of Single Queers and current Social Media Manager for Rainbow Friendly.
