It is official; summer is here and we want you to chill out a little – here are our five favorite summer smoothies!

Smoothies are wonderful alternatives for on-the-go meals, snacks, refreshments, and even desserts – can you believe it?  Smoothies can be sweet and savory but we are giving you all the fruity recipes that are our favorites this summer!

1. The Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie:

The strawberry and lemonade smoothie is a mixture of a sweet and sour blend. Here is how you make it!

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries (washed and rinsed)
  • 2 medium-sized bananas, frozen
  • 1 Cup of milk
  • 1/2 of ice
  • A sweater (optional)

Method: 

First up you are going to place all your ingredients in a blender. Purée all the ingredients until all is smooth. Taste the mixture and if it is too tarty – add a teaspoon of honey and a sweetener of your of your choice or you could make a quick and easy syrup by adding 2 teaspoons of sugar to 1/4 cup of water. Warm, stir and dissolve the sugar mixture in the microwave. Allow the syrup to cool.  Add the syrup to the mixture slowly. Pour the mixture into a glass and serve with a straw!

2. The Piña Colada Smoothie:

The smoothie Piña Colada smoothie can be an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink and is perfect for a summer’s day at the pool with your friends. Here is how you make it!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Pineapple
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Cup of coconut milk
  • 1 tsp shredded coconut
  • A sweater (optional)
  • 2 shots of Rum (optional)

Method:

Combine all ingredients into the blender and blend on a high setting until the mixture is smooth. If you are feelin’ a little adventurous – you can add two shot glasses of rum into the mixture.  Pour the mixture into a glass and garnish the smoothie with shredded coconut.  Now that is what you call delicious!

3. The Pear and Banana Smoothie:

The Pear and Banana smoothie is delicious and super easy to make.  Here’s how you make it!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Spinach
  • 1 Cup of Kale
  • 2 Cups of chilled water
  • 1 pear
  • 2 ribs/stalks of a celery stick
  • 1 Banana (Frozen)
  • Sweetener (optional)

Method:

Place all the ingredients into a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Pour the mixture into a glass and serve with a straw.

4. The Mango Carrot Smoothie:

The Mango and Carrot Smoothie is filled with nutrition and ready within minutes! Did we mention how mouth-watering this smoothie is too? Here’s how you make it!

Ingredients:

  • 1 and a Half cups of freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Cup of Mango Chunks
  • 1 Cup of Frozen Carrots
  • Sweetener (optional)

Method:

Combine all the ingredients into a blender as listed above. Blend ingredients until all is smooth and creamy. Pour mixture into a glass and serve with a straw.

5. The Pineapple Paradise Spinach Smoothie:

The Pineapple Paradise Spianch Smoothie is one way to BOOST your GREENS intake! Fresh ingridents and so easy to make. Here is how you make it!

Ingridents:

  • 3/4 Cups of Water
  • 2 Cups of Frozen Pineapple (Thawed)
  • 2 Cups of Spianch
  • 1/2 Cups of Ice Cubes

Method:

Combine all the ingredients into a blender. Blend the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Pour mixture into a glass and serve with a straw!
