The die-hard Suits-fans out there are probably giving the rest of the world the classic “I told you so” look because they knew all along that the Markle Sparkle is real and brighter than ever. With the announcement of the new addition to the Royal family, our interest has been sparked once again. So, instead of twiddling with our thumbs until Spring next year, when the little bundle of joy is to be expected, we thought we would count down 7 cool facts about the Duchess of Sussex.
1. The Ladder of Success:
Meghan Markle is extremely down to earth due to her humble beginnings and, like most
artists and young creatives, she had to work hard to make ends meet. Before landing her
popular role as the paralegal in Suits, she was a not-so-glamorous briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal. She recalls driving to auditions in a beat-up vintage Ford Explorer whose front doors didn’t work and her only solution was to climb through the trunk to get inside. That must have been a funny sight to behold.
2. Being Pursued by a Prince:
This fact will speak directly to the cheesy romantic that secretly lurks in all of us. We can only dream about being whisked into the sunset by a dashing young prince but Meghan can actually testify. Prince Harry did small, yet absolutely adorable things while he courted Meghan, for example, he reportedly drove plus-minus a 100 miles to ensure that she was his plus-one to Pippa Middleton’s wedding.
3. Beauty Tips:
The Duchess absolutely swears by tea tree oil and claims to carry it on her person at all
times. You can apply it to small cuts, light breakouts or mosquito bites and it is packed with essential Vitamin E. Furthermore, her favourite brand of mascara is Diorshow Iconic.
4. The Markle Sparkle
Meghan Markle is a trendsetter and fashion critics have dubbed her influence on trends as “The Markle Sparkle”. This awesome lady only has to wear a garment once before sales of that specific garments will skyrocket. Another weird, albeit not surprising, trend is her nose and signature freckles. According to an article published by Harper’s Bazaar, women frequently request plastic surgeons to model their noses to look like Meghan’s.
5. A Shared Family Tree:
We know that she is officially a member of the Royal family tree as of May, 2018, but
apparently Meghan and Harry have been related before their marriage. Genealogy experts have found that Markle and the Windsors have a connection that dates fifteen generations back and that they are distant cousins. Freaky, we know! This makes us wonder if maybe we have a noteworthy individual somewhere in our lineage.
6. Jack of all Trades:
Meghan is a prime example of a lady who recognises her own potential and goes for it. She is an artful calligrapher and upon that, she double-majored in both theatre and international relations at the Northwestern University since she expressed strong interest in arts and politics. Now, that’s a whole lot of brains in a whole lot of beauty!
7. Voice of a Leader:
Last, but not least, we thought we would end the list with a dose of GIRL POWER! Meghan is a naturally born leader and her passion for feminism is truly inspiring. While she was still attending the Immaculate Heart High School, she was elected as a student leader for her senior class because, as the fairy tale goes, her empathy and ability to listen was “known throughout the kingdom”. On a recent tour through New Zealand, she delivered a speech to honor the country who was the first to allow all women to vote and said that “women’s suffrage is about feminism, but feminism is about fairness”.
