All the best style moments from the brand’s first NYC show.
By: Suzanna Howard

For the first time in its history, Versace presented a show in New York City with its Pre Fall ’19 collection and as ever, the brand did not disappoint. The show mixed some of Versace’s most iconic prints and silhouettes with a distinctly modern sensibility. Some of the inspiration may have come straight from the brand’s archives but the show reinvented enough to make Donatella’s designs feel more relevant than ever. The show also attracted a number of high-profile stars, including Kim Kardashian West, in outfits to rival the ones we saw on the catwalk.

Read below for our full breakdown of the hottest looks from the runway and the red carpet.

The Leather Look

Patent red leather jackets were mixed with softer knits and silks, and Candice Swanepoel was decked out in your next all black evening look. It’s always good to see the classic Versace leather mini skirt making a return.

Mixing Prints

The Italian fashion house goes wild with it’s iconic black and gold print, clashing it in with monochrome zebra. The jewel tones that used to feature so much in their 90’s collections also makes a comeback on a boiler suit that’s been given the Versace sex appeal, as modelled on Adut Akech Bior.

Archival Reinvention

The biggest throwback of the night was iconic 90’s supermodel, Amber Valletta, closing the show in an updated version of the plunging green dress that she first wore when she closed Versace’s Spring 2000 show. The dress reached peak fame on JLo at the Grammy’s later that year. In one runway look, Donatella reminds us of Versace’s lasting impact on the fashion world and proves that they’re not going anywhere soon.

Versace Red Carpet Looks

Like the runway looks, the stars who attended the show went ALL OUT. Here are our faves:

Kim K

Alongside husband Kanye West, Kim Kardashian West sparkled in a cinched custom, vintage Versace dress and her usual Yeezy lucite heels.

Blake Lively

Blonde bombshell, Blake Lively, was all kinds of glam in this silver dress and as always, her hair was flawless.

Lupita Nyongo

One of our fav stars, Lupita Nyongo, went full Versace in head to toe prints from the brand. Has a cardigan ever looked cooler?

Paris Jackson

Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, made all of your festival dreams come true in this flared Versace jumpsuit.

Ciara red carpet look

Ciara kept it chic in this all black suit and accessorized it with a chunky gold necklace. Who says simple has to be boring?
