Rock ‘n Toast is a contemporary beer bakery in the Foreshore that opened on the 1st of August 2017. They serve GOOOOD food and are reasonably priced with R80-R100 being spent per visit.

Two friends, Jaco and Francois, met at a market in Stellenbosch. Now Jaco and Francois aren’t just two normal okes. Jaco has a law degree and is furthering his studies in the economics field while Francois was a finalist in South African Masterchef 2014. Francois has many culinary achievements such as running the best coffee shop in SA 2016 as well as working at the Spier Farm bakery. Literally a match made in heaven!

What to expect

We visited them and had a steak gatsby for R110 that can be shared. The chips was generous, the sauce was AMAZING and we felt like dirty cavemen after completely destroying that gatsby. This, in our opinion, is one of the stars of the restaurant and everyone needs to experience it at least once in their lifetime (but we will be experiencing it over and over and over again).

Rock ‘n Toast prides themselves on freshly baked breads, croissants, muffins and cakes. And honestly, we’re drooling.

It’s special because it’s on special

What makes this restaurant even better is that they have specials almost every day! And these specials are worth it!

On Mondays they have a Burger and Fries special: R60 for any Burger and fries. Their burgers are inventive, juicy and the sight of them makes your mouth water!

Tuesdays aren’t normal days at Rock ‘n Toast, Tuesdays are known as SANDWICH TUESDAYS! There sandwiches are huge, saucy, large enough to share with a friend and are only R55 on Tuesdays.

If you’re craving some Italy on a Wednesday, Rock ‘n Toast is the place for you! Pastas on Wednesdays are only R60. Just look at this Chilli Tagliatelle!

Keeping with the Italian theme, Thursdays are PIZZA DAY! They only serve pizza’s on Thursday and the entire pizza is made in house.

Let’s say Fri-YAY for their Friday Braai Day! They light up a fire and get the braai going every Friday for hungry customers. The menu is different every Friday so make a turn next Friday and find out what they got!

And if you wanna make a turn for a drink after work, they have HAPPY HOUR on Thursday and Fridays between 4-6PM. Expect craft beers, ciders and exciting cocktails!

They also serve good coffees and press their own juices! YUM!

Their trading hours are:

Saturday: 8AM – 1PM

Sunday: closed
